IPOD Dj’s!? I guess I’m old school when it comes to new ideas on what you use when djing. I have looked at the equipment & the Ipod interface from certain companies dose have the pitch control & those ideas. I think maybe the fact that when the term first hit the street it sounded like there would be no mix & it was a set it & forget it idea. Meaning the Dj would press play & walk away. In a larger sense it is about the dj who sets their playlist & mix in place & pushes play & walks a way. They may have worked hard on the mix but that has nothing to do with the crowd at the event. That is what I call a mix tape dj!

I’m not sure if I would agree even with the setting up of any long term mix even for dinner music. If you are getting paid to work you should be working! The dinner or cocktail hour maybe boring but you are still getting paid, so work it! The client no matter who they are are paying for a working dj not a play list. If you are paying for a playlist, rent the equipment hook your ipod up & press play. The rent would be less & you get your music played in order of when you want it. If you want the party to rock then look at the dj’s from the idea of how interactive you want to event to be. After all it’s your money.
