Since the birth of the internet & remixes the amount of music that is being produced is at a all time high. Dj’s are producing their own sounds as well. What once was a simple case of country, rock, Motown, R & B and classical just to name a few is now more kinds than we could even list. The crowds are more diverse & the dj’s that play in the regular bars are under fire to have it all. We are getting to a point that all bars will need to decide the music & the crowd they want. One of the statements most dj’s hears in to days market is “Play something we can dance to”. The problem is most music folks can dance to but it is always a mater of taste. With that said it becomes a crap shoot at the end of the day. The question is there too much music & the answer is in two parts: Yes & No, Yes because no one person can know it all. No, because any dj that focuses on one type will be able to keep up. Think about this when you are in a club next or a local bar as you will have a better understanding of what todays dj’s are dealing with!
