Charity events are a great way for new dj’s to get seen. Many folks get to see the dj at work & the skills they have. Some of these events are paid depending on how the dj works their deal. The big thing is the bigger the event the more exposure. You do need to be careful how many of these events you do as you don’t want folks to think of you as a free service to abuse. This is a job just like any other job out there. Some folks think it is easy to dj & that anyone can do it. This is not the case, there is a skill sets the dj has to learn to be able to perform at events. What we suggest to dj’s is you find a few charities you wish to support & focus on those few every year. This way you give back, you get exposure & regulate how much you do in the non-profit arena. You will receive referrals & build a community relationship that will improve your business. Charity events great Idea just don’t over do it.
