Have you ever listen to a dj say “It’s Time to go fishing”. What do you think they are saying. Well to break it down to basic facts, they are starting their playlist & looking to see what song is going to get folks dancing! Every night is a new night to get the party started. It is never the same twice even if the same folks show up to get their groove on. In some aspects it is about reading the crowd. Figuring out what where their heads are at. Knowing when to change the BPM’s is a major factor in keeping a dance floor going. Also knowing when to clear your floor is also a strong tool as well. Now your asking why on earth would a dj want to clear their dance floor or change up the music so people leave? The answer is simple “Bar Sales”! This simple move will improve sales. Bars are in the business of selling booze & music is a key factor in night clubs to make this happen. If a bar is not making money & sometimes the first the first thing they change up is the entertainment. It is important that a dj maintains up to date with the music they focus on. As a dj you never know when you are no longer wanted but you do know when you need to keep the crowd moving. To wrap up the blog post up remember dj’s are going fishing at the beginning of every show & it is always a one time shot to impress the crowds & the bars we all work in!
